Terms of Service
Effective 1 August 2026.
1. Acceptance
By using CatDex, you agree to these terms and applicable store terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You are responsible for device use and account security. Information you provide must be accurate. Do not attempt to access another person’s account or collection.
3. Experimental and AI features
CatDex is a discovery game. AI-assisted analysis, classifications, and text can be incomplete or wrong and are not veterinary advice, certified identification, or scientific evidence. Review details and never use CatDex for animal health or safety decisions.
4. User content
You retain rights to photos you upload. You must have the right to use them and must not upload unlawful, abusive, or infringing content. You grant CatDex the limited license needed to process, store, and display content to provide requested features.
5. Cards and generated content
Cards, descriptions, and artwork are intended for personal in-game use. Results depend on network and third-party services. Absolute uniqueness of generated content is not guaranteed.
6. Premium, purchases, and renewals
In-app purchases are handled by Apple App Store or Google Play. Price, period, trial, renewal, cancellation, and refund terms are governed by the store and shown before purchase. CatDex does not charge through this website. Restore and Premium status depend on receipts and platform services.
7. Advertising and credits
Free versions may show advertising when valid consent is available. Credits earned through ads are virtual, non-transferable, have no monetary value, and remain subject to in-app rules.
8. Acceptable use
- Do not bypass limits, security, entitlements, or ownership controls.
- Do not automate requests, manipulate cards, or abuse AI and advertising systems.
- Do not reverse engineer or interfere with the service except as permitted by law.
- Do not use CatDex to harass, track, or identify people.
9. Availability and changes
We may update, suspend, or remove features for security, maintenance, store requirements, or product development. We aim to protect collections but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent allowed by law, CatDex is provided “as is”. We are not liable for indirect loss or reliance on AI results. Nothing limits mandatory consumer rights.
11. Termination
You may stop using CatDex at any time. We may restrict access that breaches these terms or threatens users and the service. Deleting the app does not cancel a store subscription.
12. Apple license
The iOS version is also governed by Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement linked below. Mandatory applicable terms prevail in case of conflict.
13. Law and contact
Applicable law and consumer rights depend on the competent jurisdiction. Use the official support channel for questions about these terms.
